Exhibition of jewellery and photographs 4.5. – 29.6.2011
Jewellery designer Vera Novakova will present highlights of her past work along with her latest collection „Marbles“ and, for the first time in public introducing „Circles on the water“.
Vera has recently become interested in the connection between metal and the precious stones. The exhibition will present this connection in an exclusive edition of Vera’s traditional shapes enriched by precious stones – for example a ring from the Sepiaseries combined with opal, coral or real pearls.
The second part of the installation shows photographs by Lina Nemeth. Lina’s photos take us to places out of the main stream, out of the busy city, but not out of the reach of human beings. Her observation and interaction in the landscape shows a clear, sometimes even bizarre track in her images.
PhDr. Dagmar Caplyginova has said about the exhibited collection of photographs: „The author clearly shows her relaxed delight in wandering around her subject matter – in both her internal or external landscapes. She presses the release button only when she feels somehow very deeply associated with what is around her, when her feeling is close to “open-eye dreaming”.
The combined exhibition of jewellery by Vera Novakova and photographs by Lina Nemeth is entitled “Test Connection”. And there is more than one connection. Vera connects the classical technology with unusual processes, while Lina brings together the poetry of nature and the absurdity of the human interference. Both women are connected by friendship and a common philosophy of life. And both have joined forces effectively in this exhibition.
